Tasca beat Itasca 14 7 in a hard fought conference game as both teams traded drives. Itasca fumbled and struggled with protection while Tasca capitalized turning a late turnover into a touchdown to seal the win.
Tom J Jows died Thursday morning at 2 am September 2. Funeral service conducted by Elder J Motte of Valley 8 and Interment at Clifton Cemetery on September 26. Born in Adair County Kentucky, moved to Texas in 1802, worked as farmer then public weigher, later in confectionery with brother O P Rowe. The brothers spent 80 years in wheel chairs and suffered a rare disease. Survived by brother O P Rowe, mother, sister and several town relatives.

Mrs. Barah Catherine Janes, born in Montgomery Alabama, died at home in Covington after living there with her youngest son. Funeral held at Valley Raptine Church with Rev J D Barnes officiating. She was a longtime Baptist church member, survived by four sons and three daughters, with many relatives and a large funeral gathering.

Mrs. Henriette Ruecker died Friday September 7 at Holt Hospital aged 90 years 6 months and nine days. She was born in Germany and came to the United States at age 22 and lived in Meridian with her daughter for the last seven years. She was married to John Ruecker in Oldding and leaves four children and many grandchildren.
Local residents Mr and Mrs Johnnie DL Huse and Karl recently sold their country home in Turkey Smweke and moved to Willie Meonstad Howe. Friends welcome the family with help from Av and Mrv, 8 Mile and Dar, Carole and Rosalind in Dalian.
