The Clifton Garden Club met November 16 at 2 30 p m at Mrs Ray Byford s home. Refreshments were served and members discussed Thanksgiving décor for Sunset Home and club achievements. Plans for a Corsage Making workshop were set for December 3 and a Christmas Tea on December 11. Mrs Randle received 15 blue ribbons and the achievement award. Mrs Joe Hinson was elected a member by unanimous vote.
Mrs Hannah Hoff Brown of Waco a former teacher at Clifton and Crawfills Gap High Schools has retired as of September 1 after 21 years teaching in Central Texas public schools She has many friends interested in news about her retirement.
Mrs. Brown ends a long tenure with the Texas Education Agency Home Economics Staff after 21 years of service. She earned both a B.S. and a Master degree during her career.
In retirement she plans to devote time to her hobby of researching foreign recipes and adapting them for American kitchens, focusing on culinary history and cultural exchange from North Texas State University, Denton.
