The former Clifton pastor died Nov 13 after extended illness at a Waco sanitarium. Survived by two children, he was a respected pastor and husband. Funeral was held from his residence at 1926 Neuter Street, Waco, with Rev W W Melton officiating. Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery, Speegleville. Sorrowing friends extend condolences.

Deserter Captured at Crawford
On Monday morning Constable Tor Canh arrested a young man in Crawford who turned out to be a soldier from McArthur who ran away. He had discarded his uniform and wore civilian clothes. The young man had arrived in Crawford the evening before and remained at the ras Hotel. He was taken back to Camp McArthur at Warima for confinement.
