Cedar Eradication Program Reopens Applications November 10
The county reallocated funds to support earth en dam construction and cedar eradication under the 1952 program after drought reduced participation in phosphate and winter legume efforts. Applications will be accepted again starting Monday, November 10, with a December 31 deadline to complete the practices for 1952. Brother inlaw of Mrs Schow dies in Texas
Ted Meraland of Crane died at his daughter’s home in Waco or McFarland after a long illness. Funeral services were held at 2200 Oslock on Thursday afternoon, November 12, at the Conia Christian Church with interment in Covington Cemetery. Mrs C A Orbeck and her children returned from New Orleans after visiting her brother John Lambrecht.

Clifton Post 8553 and Breckenridge Post 7787 are the only two Texas VFW posts, among 42 nationwide reaching or surpassing their membership quotas for the coming year by October. The two posts will receive a nation station and a special guest, Sommender-Nell Terrell of Clifton, will be invited to attend the annual encampment in Milwaukee with expenses paid.
