The Walter Leaguers Zone met Sunday November 13 1998 with a morning service at Taiaanoe Lutheran Church. A noon gathering at City Hall featured a catered lunch under Mrs W B Oswald. Executive Board met at 1 20 pm followed by annual meeting at 2 pm. Winners in events included Clifton and Fort Worth competitors in a variety of categories with music and games to finish the evening.

Fort Worth market Wednesday saw H C Lippe Molheim feed and ship a herd from Farke Ranch Clifton and Tom Parks. The 24 yearlings this year plus other cattle drew top money, with past notices noting $13.50 as an extreme. Lippe has built a reputation for finishing cattle and cites improved breeding quality this year.
Mrs. A A Miller of Clifton Texas received a telegram from Procter and Gamble Cincinnati announcing she has won one of the second prizes of 26 per month for four in their fifth weekly Crisco contest. A letter with the check will follow and a public announcement will be made Friday November 28.
The joint office treasury committee recommended a sale of the Nelson House lot at Fifth Street and Avenue E for 5750 dollars. The lot size will be 150 by 115 feet, smaller than the original bid, with government owning half the block. Officials hope construction of the Federal building starts soon for local employment and economic activity.
Mrs Callie Cochran age 89 died last Monday evening at her daughter Mrs W T Ragsdale's home east of town. She had lived most of her life in the county and was a large landowner. Funeral services were held at the Ragsdale home with Rev George Jackson and Rev Hayden Eilenwarde officiating and interment in Old Clifton Cemetery beside her husband S P Cochran. Survivors include daughter Mrs W T Ragsdale and son Fred Ragsdale.
