Rufus T Womack Civil War Veteran Dies in Clifton
Rufus Taylor Womack born March 3, 1860 in Raleigh North Carolina died November 12 1929 at his Clifton home. He moved to Texas in 1880 settled on Sleeper Plantation later Bosque county and served on the County Board of Trustees. He married Annie Glass in 1883 and had three children all at his funeral. Funeral at Church of Christ with Elders Bills and McCaleb officiating. Numerous local officials and citizens attended. He was a devout Christian and active in education and county improvement.
