A Cranfill Gap Home Demonstration Club member Mrs Clark Terry won blue ribbon honors at the State Fair in Dallas 1890 for a jar of green tomato pickle. The prize included a large cash check awarded by the home demonstration agent to Mrs Terry as part of the contest with competitors from across the state.
Obituary records Emma Elsie Prather born 1804 in Germakicy Texas, died in a burn accident November 1st. Funeral at Clifton cemetery. survived by husband Otto Schomrock, siblings and in laws. Also noted are Terracing School demonstrations November 18 to 19 and Armistice Day social at J. C. Y. Bridge Club with prize winners and upcoming club activities.

The Walther League Rally No 2 was held at St Mark's Lutheran Church Clifton members attended and hosted by Rev L J Warner of Gopperan Gove after service there was dinner in the parish hall. President Henry Sonntag opened with devotional remarks and topics led by Miss Mildegarde Manske. The discussed questions received satisfactory answers and the gathering expressed gratitude for hospitality from the Waco Leaguers with next spring’s Zion Lutheran Leaguers invitation.
Miss Misa Kale Olson daughter of Mrs Helene Olson married Otto Solberg in a morning ceremony at the bride's home. Rev O T Roe officiated using the ring rite. The rooms were bright with flowers. Only immediate families attended. The bride wore wine crepe with matching accessories. A reception followed in the dining room. The couple departed for a short wedding trip to Oklahoma and the western towns. They will reside on Mr Solberg’s farm west of town. The bride is a popular local teacher and Mr Solberg a respected young farmer.
