Mrs. Christian H. Dahl Dies At Age 78
Mrs. C H Dahl died Wednesday morning November 4 after years of illness. Born May 14 1864 in Bosque County Texas she was part of the first generation of white children in the area. She married Christian H Dahl in 1897 and raised seven sons including Hollmer, Carl, Marvin and Milton. The obituary recalls the couple’s long life in the Niles Creek area and a noted golden wedding.

Training centers place 828 young women in Texas jobs
The United States employment service reports 828 young women aged 18 to 26 were placed in Texas aircraft factory and related work last month thanks to training at the N Y A War Work Center in Waco. Training covered sheet metal radio and machine shop skills with room and board provided and a monthly salary of 11 dollars during training. Immediate appoinments to training will be by Frank Lackey at 421 Columbus Avenue. Transportation to Waco is provided and eligibility requires ninth grade education and a birth certificate.
