Richard Hennig and wife of Clifton celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with a barbecue supper at four o'clock. The dining room was decorated in white with a two tier cake and four golden candles. Thirteen guests attended including children, grandchildren, and relatives from Clifton, Waco, Brownsville, Wyandotte, Aquila, and Weep. One grandson was away in need of rest but all others were present.

Clifton Stores to Close November 11 Armistice Day

Clifton stores will close Monday November 11 as a memorial to Armistice Day. The local American Legion post will join a parade in Waco next Monday led by District Commander J C Kincheloe. Members plan to meet at City Hall at 9 am. bring care for those who need it. The colors from the local post will march to Waco and join Central Texas units. The American Legion regular meeting is Tuesday November 12 with Auxiliary at the same time. State Highway Department urges cautious driving for the two day holiday.
