Losses from Bosque river crossing mule and seed cotton
Fehler, a prominent young man a few miles north of town, drove into the Bosque river at the F W Wallace crossing. The mule was drowned, a bale of seed cotton washed away, and the wagon overturned. Fehler narrowly escaped drowning while rescuing the animals, with the horse nearly lost for days. Loss totals several hundred dollars, above five hundred with the cotton value.

Mass Meeting to Improve Roads in Clifton
A Clifton mass meeting at City Hall led by Mayor Oscar J. Rea raised 205 to buy land for a Saxlund lane road. Committees were formed to purchase right of way repair the current road and coordinate with the Commissioners Court on a Neil's Creek bridge project. Local donors, including Clifton Merc. Oswald Barn and Contents Struck by Lightning
During a heavy rain and storm at about 1 30 Saturday morning the large barn of M J Oswald north of Clifton was struck by lightning and destroyed by fire. He lost several hundred bushels of oats and corn, hay and other feeds, a binder and other implements, totaling several thousand dollars. No insurance was carried, amplifying the loss to his grain and feeds and his years of work.

In Memory Death Claims Minnie Granrud Date
Minnie Granrud died October 25 1919 after 18 months in bed. She was beloved by family and friends who praised her patience and kindness. She leaves an aged mother four sisters and a brother. Services were held at home and Norse Lutheran Church with Rev J K Rystad. Rest, sweetly rest.
