Hovland dies after a lengthy illness at Burley hospital. Funeral plans are to be announced by the family. He was a longtime resident of the Burley area and connected with the local business community for several decades.
Memorial Day services are to be held Tuesday at the Clifton Trinity Lutheran Cemetery with Agemons L Lay services leading at 10 a.m. The Selmer Erickeon Post No. of the American Legion will oversee the ceremony as W. T. Gigstad, pastor of Germiy Lutheran Church, gives the Memorial Day address. Legion monitors will decorate the graves of all veterans. The public is invited to attend and pledge loyalty to the country. Also noting Jim 8 underwent surgery at Meridian hospital earlier this week.
Clifton Guard unit from the National Guard conducted a field bivouac near Clifton LA during a May drill. The march from the armory began at 4 PM with light field gear and weapons, followed by meals and rest stops as the company trained, cooked, and returned by 8:40 PM with a sense of gained experience from the exercise.

Club reported buying white trimmed baseball uniforms and gear for about 240 dollars, and about 168 dollars was on the club’s bank.
