The Clifton Baptist Church changes its official name to First Baptist Church of Clifton on May 16. Since 1881 the congregation, active for about 70 years, sought a name ensuring uniqueness if a second Baptist church formed in Clifton.

Bosque County delegates joined the May 18 1951 Bosque County Day tour at Temple's Blackland Experiment Station.
