A strong cyclone last night damaged farms and homes across the community. At the Reesing home a barn and smokehouse were wrecked while the house suffered window losses. Schumacher property suffered major destruction including a toppled barn, torn sheep shed, and uprooted hive oak trees. Ten peach trees were snapped at the Bernhardt residence, and a large hive oak was uprooted near the Ware farm. The storm moved northeast, toppling trees along its path and crossing the Banke river with diminishing damage. Dozens of townsfolk witnessed the widespread destruction and marveled at the absence of injuries.
