Mrs Roy May dies suddenly Monday at the Clifton residence after a long illness. She was born in 1843 in the area and leaves a husband Roy May and one son and several daughters including Ide May Amy Mall and Anns Marie. The Lutheran and Clifton Baptist churches figure in her life and a funeral service was held at the family home and Clifton Baptist Church with interment in Clifton Cemetery.

He has endured captivity in multiple camps and has sent no messages since that time. The Morgue County Chapter of the Red Cross Camp and Hospital Council met at Clifton City Hall on May 1 with sixteen members present. Mrs. W. B. Deward presided, introducing Mrs. G. H. Abbott who spoke on the council’s history, current needs, and postwar outlook including veteran mental health care efforts in Waco and Central Texas groups.
