Mrs Ortho Wirewer nee Bebnke died at her home near Clifton on Saturday May 11 1946. She suffered asthma for years and passed away after a brief illness. Funeral services were held at the Kasseger flame and St Pauls Church Clifton. Interment in Trinity Luthern Church Cemetery. Survived by two sons six daughters and four grandchildren. Active in Readie Aid Society. Many friends offer condolences to the family.
Five men named to operate the Teague league center will oversee city basketball events in Central Texas. The Clifton A-Star team is to be selected to play four weekly games, Monday through Friday, at 8 30 each night, with one game per evening and funds to offset expenses.

Meridian resident Mrs Mirtie Adsup Hill died after a stroke on a Thursday evening. Born December 29, 1881, in Eltyt County she lived in Johnson and Josque counties much of her life. She attended Meridian Methodist Church with funeral services led by Rev W N Greer and Rev BL Motard at Meridian Methodist Church. Burial followed at Kopperl Cemetery. Her husband D Hillard survives along with family.
