A church notices Dr Carroll will speak on The coming of the Lord at 11 a.m. and How Can a Man be Saved at 6:15 p.m. Sunday. A heavy rain caused by a water spout washed out road sections near Pendell School and disrupted railroad tracks. Local efforts and donations are urged to aid affected residents and restore the area.
Mr and Mrs Mixon entertained many friends at a Forty Two Shower for orphans Oliver and Zack at their West Main Street home. Guests played ten progressions of fun with tatters and games, then were served ice cream and presented gifts of foxes and ties. The hosts expressed appreciation for the gifts and late thanks noting memories of a pleasant evening and the kindness received at the sanitarium.
