Automobile Fatality in Cranfills Gap Claims Jeff Olson

Jeff Olson sixteen son of Mr and Mrs B Oscar Olson of Cranfills Gap died after his car overturned between the Lutheran Parsonage and Cranfills Gap Saturday evening. Andrew Wallum the only other occupant escaped injury. Olson reportedly lost control while trying to keep an oncoming car from passing and looking back. He died Sunday morning at four after being taken to a sanitarium and doctors in Waco said his neck was broken. Funeral services were held Monday at Cranfills Gap with Rev H W Estrem, burial in Cranfills Gap cemetery attended by many friends and relatives.

Boy Struck by Lightning in Hill County

Otto Shelley, son of J. W. Shelley, living about one mile from Whitney, Texas, was struck by lightning on May 9 and is in serious condition though doctors say he has a good chance to recover.

Aged Clifton Woman Passes Away at Home

Mrs. Barre Larsen an longtime Clifton resident died last Wednesday at her family home after a winter of declining health. Born April 11 1830 in Norway she married Borre Larsen in 1852 and they had eight children four predeceasing her. Surviving are her husband and four children along with grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the family home and the Scandinavian Lutheran Church with Rev Theo Lerud officiating. six grandsons served as pallbearers. Interment followed in Scandinavian Lutheran Cemetery.

Sherman Plane Crash Claims Instructor in Spinning Dive

In Sherman on Wednesday a plane piloted by Bobby Jewell crashed after a nose dive at about 1000 feet. L. L. Block, an auto mechanics instructor, died from his injuries while Jewell, the pilot and part owner, was hospitalized with a broken nose and facial cuts.
