Rev B S Gore returned home after visiting son Dr J M Gore. Mrs Will Wheeless and children visited relatives, planning to return to South Texas. Sam Russe of Walnut Springs traveled to town. County Democratic Convention drew attendees from across the county. Dr Marshall carried Ta Rue i Teinsile for an upcoming appendicitis operation. Mat Allen’s home west of town burned Tuesday afternoon. few belongings saved. Lizzie Johnson and Susan Mulberry left for Macon Georgia to guard the Old Confederate Act. Meridian delegates to the State Democratic Convention favored Wilgon. Marriage licenses issued for IW Mogg to Maggie Baxter and Evelyn Hirwin to Trefell.
Colonel Jake Walters candidate for the United States Senate will deliver an address on campaign issues at Clifton Saturday May 25 at 2 p.m. Walters recently toured the Panhandle and West Texas in a long automobile campaign, visiting many counties. Local supporters extend a cordial welcome and expect broad participation from East and Central Texas communities.
Due to attending the District Conference at Valley Mills I will not be in my pulpit next Sunday. Rev Hardie, pastor of the Presbyterian church, has graciously consented to preach at our church in the evening. All are cordially invited. Sunday school and other services proceed at the usual hours.
