Cubs Fall to Crawford Pirates in Final District Game

Clifton Cubs lose 6-3 to Crawford Pirates in the last district game of the year. Dylan Brownsworth started on the mound and took the loss after allowing seven hits as Crawford seized a big second inning to build a 5-1 lead before adding one more in the seventh. Clifton scored in the first, fifth, and seventh innings but could not complete a late rally. Maypearl awaits in playoff action.

Lady Cubs rally to take first two playoff games over Palmer

Clifton Lady Cubs defeated Palmer 15-9 and 13-7 to win the opening playoff round. Paige Culp earned the win in game one on the mound as Clifton erased a two-run Palmer lead with an eight-run sixth inning. Tara Creford led hitters with 4 for 4 and four RBIs, followed by Halse Applegate and Payton Odom. The series moves to Quitman for a best two of three this Friday and Saturday May 8-9 at a site to be designated.
