Community Mourns With Amundson Family In Loss Of Daughter
The Clifton community mourns the death of 16 year old Juanita LaNelle Annaussom daughter of Mr and Mrs Amundson following injuries from an accident. Funeral services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church Clifton with burial in Nose Cemetery. LaNelle born August 5 1920 near Clifton was active in church and school and beloved by classmates. Survivors include grandparents Axel Amundson and Mrs Lillie Crandall and one great grandmother.

Syvert Alfei Dies After Long Illness in Clifton
Syvert Alfei 60 of Bosque County and Clifton died April 28 1982 after a heart attack. Born in Laiten Norway August 1880 he came to America with his sister and lived on farms in Hamilton and Bosque counties before moving to Clifton in 1981. He sustained multiple injuries from oil field work and car accidents but remained married to Hannah Caroline Calwick and left a large family including twins and several siblings.

Clifton Hi Band Captures High Honors At Granbury Festival
Clifton High Band traveled to Granbury last Friday to take part in the annual Band Fan Rival. The group received favorable comments and suggestions for improvement from Col. Bark, chief executive of the event. A 120-member combined band was formed to perform two concerts that evening. Clifton musicians Mary Ann Mickelson, Wilma Erickson, John Phil Gillam, Gene Carrol Aars, Joyce Forza, Alton Joe Dahl, Bob Lane, Janes Larson, John Beaver, Kenneth Kruse, and Jom Hennig were selected for the concert. Two Olton Twirlers, Jan de Dowdy and Betty Hefner, were named among the ten best performers of the 50 present.
