Clifton Hires Brown As Athletic Director
Clifton Independent School District trustees met in special session on March 23 to discuss an athletic director candidate. Brandon Brown of Jacksboro was introduced and offered a two year contract. he will oversee Clifton’s athletics while prioritizing academics. Brown, a Bridgeport High School valedictorian and 1996 Texas A&M graduate, has AD experience at Jacksboro and coaching stints in Lone Oak Azle Fort Worth area.

Clifton Lions announce the annual Broom and Mop Sale in the Post Office parking lot on Saturday April 10 from 8 am to 5 pm. Pre orders via any Lion or call Gibbons at 675-1928. Proceeds aid scholarships park improvements youth programs and sight and hearing projects locally and beyond through Lions Club initiatives. Field Day Teaches Fourth Graders Farm Basics in Clifton
Bosque County Farm Bureau hosted 330 students from eight schools at the Central Texas Fairgrounds in Clifton for a fourth grade agriculture field day. Students learned about farm equipment, soil, honeybees, dairy farming, and bread production, with hands on activities including Biscuit Bingo and a combine demonstration.

Bosque County 4 H kicks off welding and fabrication with first hands on class in Meridian on March 18. Instructor John Edwards demonstrated cutting with oxygen and acetylene torches and arc welding while volunteers help. Jail Plans Released At Commissioners Court Bosque County
Bosque County Emergency Coordinator Dewey Ratliff told Commissioners Court plans for the Bosque County Law Enforcement Center would be received and filed. Architect Jeff Heffelfinger outlined a 64 bed unit with potential expansion to 96, noting State Jail Standards and segregation rules. He emphasized indirect supervision, in-house medical care, flex cells for gender segregation, and outside maintenance and parking areas behind a security fence. The tract may include an 800 foot well to Trinity for outside water use to cut costs.

Easter in the Park Egg Hunt Offered by Clifton Chamber
The Clifton Chamber of Commerce hosts Easter in the Park on Saturday April 3 from 11 am to 1 pm with separate egg hunts by age groups near the Armory gazebo and old tennis courts. Clifton Volunteer Fire Department brings equipment for kids to view, Easter Bunny photos offered, hot dogs lemonade provided by ALCO, prize eggs and prizes, and thousands of eggs placed by Bunny volunteers.
