Marriage of Miss Alice Hamilton to Joe Cowen
The marriage of Miss Alice Hamilton of Texas City to Joe Cowen of Comanche occurred Saturday evening March 11 at the First Baptist Church in Austin. The double ring ceremony was conducted by Rev. G. Posey with only immediate family present. Guests included close relatives and Hose friends. The bride wore a light weight beige navy suit with fox fur trim and blue accessories, and a white gardenia corsage. A gold grandmother’s watch necklace was worn as something old, and the rings matched her grandmother’s engagement ring. An informal reception followed at the bride’s uncle Dr. and Mrs. Ed Taylor’s home. The couple’s groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Cowen of Comanche, and the bride’s sister Miss Margaret Hamilton of Arp served as maid of honor. The wedding music featured Liebestraum played by Paul Kinard of Austin on the organ. The senior news and school notes appear after the ceremony.
