Margie Bertelsen Returns From Overseas Service

Margie Louise Bertelsen arrives home after two and a half years with the American Red Cross. She served near Frankfurt and in Germany with Allied troops and held a recreation director post. Born in Canyon Falls Gap, she studied at Clifton Junior College and Baylor University, and taught at a local high school before joining service. She is welcomed by Mr. and Mrs. M. G. Bertelsen at Frederick’s Place Worth.

Dr A Brown born in Atoka Oklahoma is a married father of two young boys. He attended Clifton and Duncan and served twenty years in the Navy. While stationed at Mare Island he preached for the Church of Christ in Napa California. He travels weekly to deliver sermons at the Clifton church.

Work Started On School Building Clifton Public Pounds

Work began this week on a vocational Agriculture and GI training building at Clifton Public School. The concrete footing is poured, the 144 by 88 foot main hall includes a 9 by 36 wing, and the project is led by W Berry with Ernest Landgrat as foreman. A large room with lockers and a shop area will support cabinet, woodwork, and machine work, with a great room and entry doors. Completion targeted by July 4 for the shop course to commence, with further work after.

District Track Meet Bi 1 PE district event in Clifton Texas

The central Texas district track meet at City Park in Clifton features ten teams led by defending champion Valley Mills.
