Avsis March 20. Texas Supreme Court to decide if a dry county can have a wet precinct under a 3.2 beer amendment. Court grants error in Walker County case where Precinct No 4 voted wet despite county dry. Civil Appeals Court in Galveston upheld the precincts right to a wet area within a dry county.
Three Bosque County communities will extend cotton contract signing due to shortages. WJ Phillips Iredell J V McCorkle Valley Mills and Ray W Hickok Walnut Springs will hold extra signer days at usual locations on Saturday March 23 for farmers to sign additional contracts. County Agent C L Wilson notes that farmers who missed signing can file a 1985 Cotton Acreage Reduction Contract at the Meridian City Mall office, with a final extension closing Tuesday March 26 or when no more contracts are accepted.

Mrs Behnke marked her eighty fourth birthday at the home of F W Krueger on March 18 a large gathering of relatives and friends attended hymns were sung and a devotion based on psalms 23 and 121 was led by the pastor Mrs Behnke thanked the young people for their part and a birthday supper followed guests departed wishing her joy and good health for the years ahead
