Craig Logan living 16 miles southeast of Clifton is named head of the Texas Shorthorn Breeders Association. E M Trigg Jr Bastrop is vice president and Henry C Barlow McKinney is re elected secretary treasurer. The annual banquet at the Texas Hotel Monday night was presided by retiring president W E Peterson of Justin as many members attended.
The rising peppermint habit drives higher prices as Michigan growers expand to over 4000 acres. Peppermint oil now tests boiler safety by odor, with scented steam indicating acceptable pressure. Marsh land previously used for hay dominates production, rotated minimally, and the crop is harvested by mowing machines each September.
H. K. Rea visited relatives here between train movements last Friday. He stopped briefly to greet family members and then continued his journey, leaving local residents with a cordial impression.
L. L. Duke announces bid for City Marshal of Clifton in the upcoming April 5 election. He plans to visit voters personally to discuss his qualifications and ambition for the office, believing he is well known and ready to serve.

Meridian was beaten once, Weatherford College defeated Clifton four times, and Weatherford swept the western conference before taking two of three from Burleson College at Greenville for the state title. Sparks led with 50 points, Hurst had 44, and the team total was 192.
A revival meeting begins March 20 led by Lynn Squires of Kentucky. Organizers invite all Christian people to cooperate and hope the event will bless the town and surrounding community.
John Holder and his family are moving from the country to the R. Clement residence near Clifton High School. The move brings a new scene to the Clifton neighborhood as the Holders settle into the house and begin life in town.
The Queen Theatre offers a weekly lineup with Buster Keaton in The General and The Monkey Talks comedy. Jack Hoxie stars in Hidden Loot with a double show including The Monkey Talks and Roses and Roses. Richard Dix stars in Paradise for Two with Betty Bronson and Andre Beranger, plus Switching Sleepers. Love 'em and Leave 'em with Evelyn Brent and Louise Brooks screens with Fox News and specials.

Congressman Tom Connally and Mrs. Connally are due in Marlin this week from Washington. He has been away from national affairs for months and will spend most of his time in Marlin during the visit.
