Sheriff Grimes reports a suspicious long haired man seen near a farm four miles south of Cranville Gap. A resident says a crouching figure approached as Ruby Jean Simao investigated. she was assaulted but escaped with injuries. About 50 neighbors and deputies joined a search. no conclusive trace found by next day.
