A June 25 reunion near Wort Live Clifton brought together Schakze family members from many locations. Guests shared a noon meal of fried chicken and other foods, reminisced about childhood, and displayed photos. Attending couples and families included Ate and Mrs. F Chulan, May and Mrs. Walter Kruse, plus many others from Artesia Sew Mexico to California.
Clifton Lodge No. 390 installed a newly elected slate for the lodge year. In a tense game, Valley Midgets beat Clift 18 to 3 amid a shifting rules era that sidelined four Devon youths from the Midget team. Hitting leaders included Bobby Lane P D Wallace Jimvoy Larsin and Eugene Diotier as Citton’s infield turned a standout double play.
Hyles inaugurated as Clifton Lions Club president at a Tuesday meeting with installing officer Hinlen Aars. Mrs. W B Oswald spoke at Atlantic Hotel noting the Immanuel Lutheran Ladies' Aid anniversary marked by the 1920 formation under Rev W B Bowie. The early leadership included Mrs Bowie Mrs Herring Mrs Wiederanda and Miss June. Thirteen members attended the first meeting and the group recalls its years of service.

The ceremony featured white garlands, daisies, ferns, and orange blossoms with music by John Bar Ey Hubbard. The wedding party included matron of honor Mrs Clifton Pries, bridesmaids Miss Virginia Price, Miss Mary Handerson, and flower girls Carol Ann Hubbard and Sue Hubbard. Best man Don Kirk. ushers Sam Ett et Benak. The couple will reside in Austin.
The Ursinian Chernoff family Gregory 36 Haisea 28 Swetlana 9 Anatoli 1 will travel from Womack to New Orleans aboard the Genameh Glory around July 8 for sponsorship by Zion Evange felical Church. Mr Reichert and wife plan to drive to meet them and bring them back to Shale few hours away.
Valley Mills youth M Sanders Jr. aged about 15 or 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. C Sanders, dived into a shallow Bosque River area near the old golf course and struck a 24 inch seep water. He was brought to Clifton hospital in critical condition with paralysis from the waist down. Engineers working on the Clifton and Valley Mills bridge project have dammed the Bosque and plan to pour foundations for the approaches.
