Aged Citizen A. Saxland Passes Away at 89
A. Saxland died at his daughter Mrs. A. C. Strommen's home four miles west of Clifton on Tuesday June 17 after a brief illness. A native of Norway he came to the United States about forty years ago and resided here since. Funeral services were held by Rev. J. K. Rystad of Norse and burial followed in Clifton cemetery at 3 PM.

Meridian Texas June 17 The Ferguson wildcat No 2 well struck pay oil sand at 540 feet and showed a producing sand estimated eight to ten barrels per day. Drilling continued with optimism that the find indicates a sizable oil field in Bosque County as more strata may lie ahead.

Clifton Boys Return From France Homecoming Record
Thirteen Clifton boys returned home from France last Monday night after discharge at Camp Bowie. Mrs Oscar Grimland Dies After Appendicitis Operation
Mrs Oscar Grimland of Norse died at Temple Sanitarium last Wednesday evening at 10 o clock after an appendicitis operation. She leaves a husband and a baby about one year old with many relatives and friends. The body was brought to Norse for interment and funeral services were conducted by Rev J K Rystad about five o clock yesterday afternoon. The bereaved family extends sincere sympathy.
