Funeral services for Sam J Alexander aged 82 were held at 10:00 Friday at First Baptist Clifton. He died in a June wreck on Highway 215 near Clifton. Interment followed at Clifton Cemetery. Born near Meridian Mississippi, he moved to Clifton, worked as a custodian, served as justice of the peace, and was a longtime Woodmen of the World member. He was a friend of Governors Neff and Ferguson and enjoyed fishing and sports. He is survived by two daughters and two sons.

Tom J. Jones aged 74 years 8 months 1 day of Mosheim died from a heart attack at his home Friday morning June 19 after a hospital stay in Clifton from May 10 to May 30. Funeral Saturday at Mosheim Methodist Church with Pallbearers Tankersley family. interment Valley Mills Cemetery. He married Elizabeth Tankersley in 1914. daughter Vara Glady. Survived by wife Vara, daughter Vara Gladys Jones, sister Lettie Ficklin and many nieces and nephews. He operated a Mosheim service station and was a longtime church member and friendly neighbor.

G G Dickson aged 73 years 5 months 29 days of this city died in a head on collision on Highway 215 near Clifton June 8 with passenger Sam J Alexander also fatally injured. Born December 9 1881 at Seguin he lived in Bosque County most of life. He married Myrtle M Dunn May 10 1904 and had four children Gerald Graves James Gerald Guy Bonner Mary Travis and Annie Mae. He worked for Santa Fe and Houston Texas Central railways before settling on ranching near Coyote Mosheim and Harmony. He and his wife joined Fairview and later First Baptist Church Clifton. He was living at 1103 West Pecan Clifton at death.

Half Of New Clifton Water Line Placed By City Crew
About half of the roughly 6,000 feet of new water mains for Clifton has been installed as city workers and ditching crews advance pipe laying. The project uses lighter, easier handled pipe with 8 inch main and 6 inch laterals. Storage tanks at Clifton feed water from wells east of the Santa Fe tracks to improve pressure and supply for Mary Street and areas near the garment factory.

Paul Poulson died at his home in Lubbock on Tuesday morning June 14 at age 71 after a period of ill health attributed to leukemia. A Clifton native, he moved to Lubbock as a child and lived there the rest of his life, owning farmland near Lubbock. Survived by his wife in Lubbock, two sons Thomas A and George Wayne Poulson of Lorenzo, and two daughters Dorothy Smith of Lorenzo and Mary Beth of Lubbock.

Man Severely Injures Foot While Clearing Line Near Lake Whitney
Chester McDougal suffered a deep cut to the top of his foot while trimming trees to clear a path for a telephone line in the Lake Whitney area. The injury on Monday will likely confine him to bed for several days.
