Rainy weather boosts corn hopes in Coon Creek area

Special correspondent reports a good rain Saturday night promising a strong corn crop. Local visits include Autry Rainbolt and Mrs. Henry Phillipson from Fort Worth. Etta Brittain of Lubbock spent time with relatives. Residents attend school and move properties. The thresher is set to start Monday the 13th and S. D. Rainbolt is building a community canning house.

McNeill and Hearon Wed in Valley Mills Methodist Church

Edwin B. McNeill of Valley Mills and Maud Rivers Hearon daughter of Reverend and Mrs. W. J. Hearon were married Tuesday at the Valley Mills Methodist church in a small ceremony attended by relatives. The bride wore navy georgette with taffeta trim and carried a bouquet of roses. she received a diamond pin as a gift. After a brief wedding trip they will return to Valley Mills to reside.

Edgar Lee Dies in Dallas Sanitarium at 23

Edgar Lee aged twenty three, son of Emil Lee of Clifton, died in a private sanitarium in Dallas on Wednesday night June 8. He had been an invalid for years and spent time in San Angelo and other parts seeking better health. Born in Clifton, he was bright and happy before his health failed. The Clifton Mercantile Company hearsed his body home and funeral plans indicate interment in Clifton cemetery beside his mother, with arrangements pending Friday.
