The County Centennial Farm and Demonstration Contest organized by the A and M College of Texas concluded June 11. Twelve hundred and six of the one thousand entries were judged statewide, with Axel Dahl and W B Brandefer of Meridian winning first and second place, A H Spitzer and B Niebal also from Meridian taking third and fourth. Honorable mentions went to B S Parks Clifton Jaffe Hanna D Pike and C M Fleming of Meridian. To enter the contest a site had to lie on a state highway.

Mrs. Caroline Pederson, aged 68, died Monday June 1 after a long life in the Norse and Trinity Lutheran communities. Born November 4, 1871 to Henrik and Christina Dahl, she married Ole C. Survived by husband, many relatives, seven grandchildren, and siblings, she was remembered for devotion to church, home, and mission work, with her life of faith seen as a blessing to all who knew her.
