A local advertisement touts cast iron hollow ware for daily use. It promises durable, easy to maintain pieces including kettles skillets and pots finished to a bright shine and described as lasting like silver.
County court notes list appeals from Justice of the Peace in several contract and damages suits. Cases set for May 31 and June 3 include Levi Hering, S. K. and L. 8. Lewis, A. Frederick Sr, A. Reeeder, Connolly & Co., Rushing, Wilm, Lane & Gibbs, J. A. Brewer, and others. Trials included H. K. Rea over rents with a judgment for plaintiff, and various dismissals and continuances. Alvin J Kelso aged 39 died suddenly in Waco after refusing church attendance. Coroner cites heart failure. possible fainting spells. Funeral held at First Presbyterian Clifton with Masonic rites. relatives from Gatesville Bartlett Maysfield Gatesville Haskell and Maysfield attended.
Oliver Bekken was severely injured when a horse kicked his leg while returning from a farm with a wagon load of stove wood. He was taken to his north Clifton home where Dr Carpenter dressed the badly swollen leg and predicted a long recovery.
Dr. J. B. Honeycutt visited from Rotan with intent to relocate his family to this section. After reviewing conditions here and in Mc Gregor he chose the latter and expects to move by July 1 due to his wife's health in the western location.
Dr. T. Scott and Miss Sallie Lee Masterson wed Wednesday morning at the Mastersons ranch in Truscott Texas. Rev W M Lewis presided with Maid of Honor Anna Belle Masterson and Best Man D F Meyer. The couple planned a Clifton home reception and stopped in Fort Worth for a wedding breakfast with friends.
Ed Stamford suffered a severe injury to two left hand fingers while making window frames in Neal Neilson's shop last Saturday. A hand slip caught in the rapid machinery driven by a gasoline engine. Dr. Moore treated the wounds and stated the prognosis is cautiously optimistic.
Clifton defeated Horne 8 to 1 in a Monday afternoon baseball game. Clifton pitcher struck out multiple batters while the offense built an early lead and never looked back.
On Wednesday Clifton met a strong Norse squad that matched them closely with a final score showing the visitors leading 8 to 6.
