Dallas July 17 Captain Joseph Weldon Bailey Jr son of the late Texan senator died in a Camp Howze hospital from pneumonia complications after a week old auto wreck. He suffered head injuries and remained unconscious until death. Stationed with the Marine Corps at Norman Oklahoma he was en route to Dallas to join his wife and son near Gainesville where the crash occurred. Captain Bailey born Gainesville December 10 1021 was a son of senator Joseph Weldon Bailey and Wren Murray Bailey. He took over the legal practice founded by his father after the war.
Rev. N. T. Wheeler announces the Coon Creek Baptist revival ends Sunday with an all day singing under the old tabernacle and dinner on the grounds. Visitors from Port Worth, Waco and Houston attended. Services start 11:00 AM, dinner midafternoon, gathering at 4:00 PM for final baptisms and sermon “Face of and the Altitude.”
Miss Mary Snider lifelong Bosque County resident dies at home Saturday night July 17 after nine months illness. Born near Valley Mills, she lived in Valley Mills and Clifton area, active in Baptist Church and local affairs. Funeral Sunday, July 11, at 5 pm at her home, with pallbearers Luthur Raley, Johnny McNeill, Jack Pool, C H Reese, M R Ring, and Ben Harrie. Survived by three sisters and one brother: Sue Snider Clifton, Mrs C Pool Austin, Mrs Roscoe Peters Waco, Henry Snider Valley Mills.
Five more Bosque County youths have entered military service, with names including Hubert B. Nutt Jr and Charles W. Nutt in Army Air Corps and Millard A. Nelson among others.
