Leon Henson eight year old son of Mr and Mrs Joe Henson of Clifton underwent his third operation Monday at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Crippled Children in Dallas. He was a third grade student last year and would appreciate hearing from classmates while hospitalized. Addresses for letters or cards were provided.

Cranfills Gap Couple Drowns in Farm Lake
Oscar Monroe Jones age 63 and Margaret Ruth Jones age 57 drowned on their Cranfills Gap farm lake near Rock Church. Neighbor Levi Bryn found the bodies around 6 PM Friday after they were last seen fishing Thursday. Officials believe a boat accident led to both deaths with no foul play evident. The couple had moved from Fort Worth five years ago and built the lake for fishing. Justice Will Freedman ruled accidental drowning after 18 hours death. Survived by four sons Hewell, Billy M., Gerald, and Ronald Jones. Mrs. Jones's two sisters Ruby Aldridge and J W McKinney.

Mrs W B Oswald of Clifton plans to leave July 23 aboard the Santa Fe Chief for Pittsburgh Pennsylvania to attend the ninth biennial international convention of the Lutheran Woman's Missionary League on July 26 and 27. She serves as an alternate to Mrs J M Garrett of Waco the Texas District president. Mrs Garrett will not attend due to her husband’s recent accident. After the convention Oswald will tour the Pennsylvania Dutch area and return around August 1.

Guard To Leave Sunday For Fort Hood Training
Clifton's National Guard unit sails for Fort Hood on Sunday July 23 to join the 36th Texas Infantry Division for a 15 day encampment. 109 Clifton soldiers of Company C 2d Battle Group 143d Infantry will train alongside 8 000 Texas guardsmen at the Central Texas site. The division aims to complete Army Training Tests at squad platoon and company levels by 1963.

About 80 people attended the Clifton Regina Chapter 283 Order of the Eastern Star fish fry Friday night July 14 at the Rowe home in Laguna Park. David Rowe and helpers fished the Lake Whitney catch and cooked it in an outdoor deep fryer for members spouses and guests.
