John B. Alexander died in Mosheim on Monday July 17. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. F. B. Weller, Rev. Miltonay, and Rev. Jepnea Shelor, with interment at Coan Creek Cemetery. Born in Newton County he spent most of his life in Bosque County. He married Miss Jessie Man Grant in 1904 and five sons and five daughters survived him. He is mourned by his wife, five sons, three daughters, and other relatives.
Breeders from Bosque Shorthorn toured multiple counties including Coryell and McLennan driving over two hundred miles. The group gathered near Meridian at a cattle barn then visited Car Duke farm and Del Leon stock, with 1941 purchases highlighted and a meeting of the State Shorthorn Breeders Association held during the tour.
