Miss Isabell Herndon Home Service Director of the Community Public Service Company led an adult homemaking class in freezing foods and using the electric range. She showed blanching cooling and packaging vegetables and treating fruits with ascorbic acid to prevent discoloration. Frozen salads and doughs were highlighted for summer meal prep. An oven meal of fried chicken corn and peach crisp was shown with prizes won by Mrs. Henry A. Carr and Mrs. S. B. Johnson.

Gospel meetings planned at Cranfills Gap church
A week long series of gospel meetings will run at the Church of Christ in Cranfills Gap from Sunday July 22 to Sunday July 29 with nightly song service at 8 15. Norman Warren, the church’s regular minister, will conduct the services. Warren, a year resident of Cranfills Gap, is known for his youth work and has studied at Abilene Christian College and the University of Eastern New Mexico and other colleges in Tennessee and Colorado. He invites the public to submit religious questions to be answered during the series and extends a countywide invitation to attend.
