Tetefor County notes the burial of Biter Gillahxe former resident of Eilfiee at Clifton Tusnday afternoon with Rev. Floyd W. Thrash officiating. Several relatives, including Mrs Edna Gallahar Geneaha and Travis Callahan of Oklahoma, attended the service. The Gallahar family moved to Cor in 1912 where he worked as a builder. five children survived him.

Fire at Texas Milling Company hay grinding plant in Clifton was put out by Clifton volunteers after 6 p.m. Wednesday with limited damage. The grinding plant remains standing but timber supports need replacement. machinery suffered damage and a motor will be replaced. The box car adjacent to the scene sustained heavy water damage after being uncoupled and moved away. The mill buildings rely on a sprinkler system that activated at high temperature. Mill officials credited the swift fire department response and handling.
Clifton’s ice plant limited customers to 25 pounds daily due to demand greater than supply. The Central Texas plant supplies communities including Cranfus Gan, Hurst Springs, Mozheim, Valley Mills, Coyote and Womeck. As temperatures exceed 100 degrees the plant can store 3 to 4 tons nightly, but prolonged heat reduced reserves, forcing rationing across area stores.
During a week of extreme weather, Clifton's water use rose notably. Winter demand runs about 140000 gallons daily, while summer peaks near 300000. Daily consumption reached around 800000 gallons when heat waves intensified.
A Clifton Livestock Commission sale draws buyers from Texas and beyond with weekly activity near 435000, handling about 700 cattle, 200 sheep and 40 hogs. Prices reach cattle to 1460 per pound, fat calves to 174 per pound, hogs at 19 per hundred, while average sales run about 38000 weekly across roughly 450 head. W. M. Kaye Kendall drives the lively, fair auctions drawing regular buyers like High Grade Packing Co. and Coastal Co., with 1000 head traded in under five hours.
Slifton Golf Club held a meeting at the WD Goodall lawn where members enjoyed watermelons and elected officers to run the club Jack Tin foebertantis Lee president Harry Womack G Bronstad W D Goodall and Galvin Fossett named to the membership committee Clifton Gott Cub tied with Lange Amber of Cliton and neighboring town bulfers to eat watermeton with them at the event.
