Narrow Escape From Lightning At West Side Home

Gun Battle In Waco Ends Murder Charge
Waco July 8 Elner Faulks 22 and Ethmes Forrest charged with murder in the grayt lay of Elmer Yaddleston a 40 year old veteran policeman. Forrest near death from a bullet wound, Faulks shot in the stomach in serious condition. A third man held in the shooting war was placed in jail. others say he was only a hitchhiker. Huddleston and Ira Royale killed a policeman during the incident.

Tim Christenson born June 14 1903 died July 14 1940. He enlisted in the U S Navy June 18 1921 and served in San Diego. He later joined the U S Army and was stationed in San Antonio Texas. He married Lucile Williams July 16 1928 and they had one son Edward Dale. Christenson operated a business in Hillsboro until two years ago when he retired due to ill health. He is survived by his wife son and his parents Mr and Mrs John Christenson and two brothers Ole and Jon Christenson.

NYA and T&I Division Expand NYA Education Programs
July 16 Texas NYA projects gain stronger co operative ties with the National Youth Acti f and the Trades and Industrial Division. J C lam says twenty seven falls ime and two part time instructors will teach in NYA shape and resident centers in Burnet Marshall Ranger Canyon Brenham Prairie View Waco Bartow rth Laredo Kingsville and Houston. The division will train aviation mechanics in Marshall Ranger Fort Worth Waco and South Houston and for shop work at additional locations except Brentham where a girls project operates and at Prairie View site of a pay ment center for Negro boys. The cooperative plan between NYA and the T&I Division aims to develop a multi year program with homemaking division teachers providing instruction for about 450 girls at fifteen resident centers. Kellam says the arrangement supplements work experience and training for young men and women in NYA out of school programs.
