City to demand pavement repairs after cracked sections
City officials led by Mayor Jim B. Smith will instruct the contractor overseeing the street paving program to fix designated cracked areas. City Manager Kenneth R. Neystel noted the city supplied the base and the contractor did the paving while bonding material appeared adequate. The firm has been paid about 50 000 to 60 000 dollars, with plans to bid out five or six remaining sections to H and B Contractors of McGregor for trial paving. Bosque County receives 41 000 dollars in rent subsidies for low income families.
