Texas phosphate needed here for Bosque farmers
Bosque County farmers and ranchers would use about 600 tons of phosphate if available, says B. Rogstad of the County Farm Bureau Federation. The survey by C. Jobson and Cliff Day notes Texas output is shipped to other regions, hindering local needs. J. Walter Hammond of the Texas Farm Bureau Federation accuses government regulation of causing the diversion. Scientists and farmers cite phosphate as a deficient Texas soil element, with extensive use across the state.
