Last week the Clifton Public School teams won two games over Whitney 30 to 20 and 21 to 1 while the B team lost 31 28 to Waco Tech. Four seniors Betty Callan Drucilla Whidley Geel Brash er and Josephine Urban graduate mid term and will receive diplomas later. Speech classes begin this term under Mr Harper as changes to schedules prepare for the new term.

Improved Cotton Yields In Central Texas Under New Program
Robert A. Wells of Bosque County reports that a new pre square poisoning method plus improved practices increased average cotton yield to 187 pounds per acre in 100 fields across thirteen Central Texas counties during 1949. Close county supervision and use of toxon or Venmene XH 85 40 mix yielded 70 pounds per acre vs 21 on controls. Several local FHA borrowers plan to adopt the program to boost per acre output amid cotton allotments.
