Mrs. Leslie B. Vance heads the 17th annual cookie sale beginning January 31 through February 9. About 6,500 girls in 13 Central Texas counties will sell four cookie varieties to fund Bluebonnet Girl Scout Council camps at Lake Belton and Bryan and to earn camperships or patches. Troops receive seven cents per package for troop funds. public support requested. Robert Q. Harris Jr., Council president.

More workers than ever before were in the Texas labor force in 1973 according to the Texas Employment Commission annual report to Governor Dolph Briscoe. The labor force reached 5,129,000 last August with total employment up 162,000 and unemployment at 5.4 percent.
