Townsend Dies After Long Illness in Clifton
Leroy D. Townsend born February 18 1866 in Golden Colorado died January 18 1980 at his Clifton home after a lengthy illness. He moved to Clifton in 1908 with his mother and two sisters and ran a lumber business for twenty one years before retiring. He never married and cared for his mother and twin sisters. He joined First Presbyterian Church of Clifton and served as deacon for years. Funeral services were held Sunday January 20 at First Presbyterian Church with interment in Clifton Cemetery.
