San Francisco December 26 United States Mint Director Ray Baker announced a forthcoming peace dollar with a Liberty head and an eagle resting on a mountain peak. The design includes a rising sun, the word Peace, E Pluribus Unum and One Dollar. Approval came after a sculptor competition. The Philadelphia mint will coin the new silver dollar.
