Messrs. Chas and Barney Arther of this place G W Arther of near Meridian with a sister Mrs J L Doss of Dyersville were summoned to Bell county last week for the funeral of their step father James R Sutton nearly ninety who died last Thursday Funeral services were held Friday.
Jim Willis Helm, once a prominent local figure, arrived from Jerico last Saturday night to stay indefinitely with his wife Mrs. Helm. She has been visiting her aunt Mrs. Sallie Whittenton due to the frail health of the latter. This is Helm's first visit here since he left for the Texas plains more than fourteen years ago.
Ed Grimland of Sonora spent the week visiting relatives and old friends. He was in Temple with his wife, who is a patient in the sanitarium, and came up here for a short visit.
Kennard Golden a Medical Department student at State University came home early this week after a period of illness described as dengue lagrippe flu or similar. He was very sick for several days but has since improved.
A stray brindle cow with cramped horns and a split left ear, about ten years old, has remained in the pasture for two months. The owner is asked to call and retrieve the cow and pay for the notice and pasture occupation. A. F. Gohlke. Lt.
