Ed Carlton died at his Walnut Springs home after months of ill health aged forty nine. Survived by widow Josie Armstrong and three sons. Ed was son of F. M. Carlton founder of Carlton and brother to Geo M Carlton Hamilton R N Carlton Stephenville Dr B H Carlton Gatesville J S Carlton Hico Evans Carlton Iredell. He lived in Beaumont Texas before moving to Walnut Springs two years ago to run a drug business.

Mrs. Sam Oswald died last Friday night near Clifton from pneumonia after influenza age 29 daughter of Mr and Mrs Morgan Atchison Walnut Springs. She leaves a husband and six children. Funeral at Old Clifton Cemetery Saturday at 3 pm conducted by Rev J A Kidd assisted by Rev Geo Kornegay and Rev E S Sansom. She was a longtime member of Womack Baptist Church.

Texas Canvassing Board Confirms Two Constitutional Amendments
The State Canvassing Board tabulated the November general election results from most counties, with five counties missing 1,200 to 1,400 votes. The free textbook amendment passed 84,586 to 37,620, a 46,966 majority, and the witness deposition amendment in criminal cases passed 77,046 to 39,394, a 37,652 majority. State officer results expected to be released tomorrow.

Death of Nels Olson Seljos At Brother's Farm
Nels Olson Seljos died last Saturday morning at his brother A. O. Seljos’s home southwest of town. Born in Norway he emigrated to America and lived with relatives in the area for years. He had poor health for years but died unexpectedly soon before the end. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Scandinavian Lutheran Church with Rev. Theo Lerud officiating, burial in the Scandinavian Lutheran cemetery.

Funeral services by Rev J A Kidd were held at Wallings Bend Cemetery Sunday at 3 PM with interment in attendance of many relatives and friends. Our sympathy goes to the bereaved family.
