Estate Tax To Be Made Permanent In 2011 Says Farm Bureau
CLIFTON The U S Senate moves to extend the current estate tax with a 2011 reappearance. Farm Bureau quotes Alan Day saying a permanent tax could devastate farm and ranch enterprises if a year end deadline is missed. Exemption could drop to 1 million with a 55 percent rate unless law changes. HR 3905 proposes gradual $3.5 million to $5 million over 10 years. Family farms supply about 86 percent of agricultural products, Day argues.
