Birthday Parties Honor Local Children In Lane Chapel
Twenty six people attended Sunday School then, with visits from Clifton and Vernon residents. Mrs. James F Harris hosted Gary eight birthday party at the Harris ranch on February 15, followed by another for Diane eleven and Judy twelve at the Webb residence on February 18. Guests included family, friends, and teachers, with games, ice cream, cake, and candy prizes. Nearby visitors included Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Dansby, Mrs. Catherine Parrish, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Roetschke, and relatives from Clifton, Brownwood, Hobbs, Lubbock, and Dallas as well as many others joining church and weekend gatherings. Miss Duncan May Make European Trip
Miss Margaret Ann Duncan of Alexandria and Denton Texas State College for Women may join the Modern Choir in a European premiere of Stabat Mater by Ernst von Dohnanyi in Liverpool on October 2 1956. Dr Ernc Daniel Wichita Falls Symphony director invited the choir and will conduct with Dohnanyi as guest pianist. The group has already premiered the work in Wichita Falls January 16 and plans a February 29 Texas tour through Waco San Antonio Corpus Christi and other cities.Ensure funds are secured for the overseas trip and that the invitation is accepted.
