Loot recovered in Bosque County bank robbery case
Deputy Doyle Spurling Sheriff George Grimes of Bosque County and Sheriff Bob Reeves of Franklin recovered five bags of silver coins worth $2,818 buried on the Possum Trot road near Neille Creek about three miles west of Highway 6. The money, part of $12,350 stolen from First State Bank of Bremond, was traced after Francis Clarion Hooper confessed and led officers to the site following a bank heist. Hooper claimed his brother was killed during the robbery and that the loot was hidden to fund his brother’s business plans. The recovery increased the total recovered to $7,694. He also described the brothers’ route through Bremond and the events at the bank.
