Delta Kappa Gamma Chapter held regular meeting February 8 at Clifton municipal dining room. A luncheon was served at the Methodist Church with red and gold decorations. Ruth Townley presided as hostess as a program on Latin American relations featured Mrs Leonid Walker and Miss Tessie Coston with piano selections by Miss Patsy Parks.
Pfc Hubert A Eckert of Clifton Texas serves in the 392d Bombardment Group a Liberator unit stationed in Ireland. The group recently earned a distinguished unit citation for outstanding performance during 200 missions against Germany and enemy occupied territory, despite adverse weather and fierce opposition.
Clifton Lions Club members met February 13 at City Hall for luncheon and discussion of postwar needs. They explored air field land needs, hotel accommodations, and toursist cabins, with Army officials expressing interest in land for an air field if 400 to 1000 acres were provided. Committees reported on Highway, Road Fund, and Boys and Girls work.
